As a youth development organization operating in New York City, America SCORES New York recognizes its responsibility to act as an organization that stands against all forms of oppression.

The history of New York City and the United States of America has been profoundly shaped by institutional and structural forms of racism. The field of youth development does not stand outside of this reality. America SCORES New York works with students, communities, and families who have been historically deprived of the opportunity to prosper because of their race.

It is our responsibility to do what we can to break this cycle of injustice.

As an organization, we strive to model the racial equity we believe should be present throughout society at large by working

to ensure all stakeholders are united in our commitment to racial equity. No family or child should be denied access to quality

after-school programming due to the color of their skin.

Furthermore, we seek to create opportunities for New York City's young people to address problems of race throughout the city by giving them a place to reimagine a more just society through soccer, poetry, and service-learning.

Every child deserves the opportunity to be a part of a team and program where they feel safe and brave enough to be adventurous and expressive. We are in this together for the students and communities we serve whose families are deprived of the opportunity

to prosper because of their race. In our organization, we want to form long-lasting relationships with the communities we work in

and the families that live in them.
