"As a former student-athlete, I realize the important lessons that balancing athletics and academics can teach. Teamwork, hard work, leadership. In only a short time with ASNY, I've seen those characteristics come out in spades in the kids and it's amazing."

A favorite soccer memory: "In a playoff game at SUNY Geneseo, my teammate scored a golden goal in overtime. I just remember running on a dead sprint from my own goal to the other side of field. I couldn't get to the celebration fast enough."

NBC Universal, Board Vice-Chair

Delia grew up in New Jersey and currently lives in Jersey City.

"I started working with SCORES through the Summer Cup tournament; HBO was invited to play and I was able to get the support to start a team and play our first tournament in 2014!  Since then, we’ve been competing every year in both the Summer and Winter Cups which helped me learn more about SCORES and what the organization does. When the Junior Board started, I knew I wanted to be a part of it to raise money and support both the soccer and poetry programs. I’m so happy to be a part of the SCORES team and to contribute to the students of NY!"

A favorite poem: Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou

A favorite soccer memory: "I’ve been playing soccer since I was 5. The main memories that stand out are the varsity championships we won in high school. I played for an awesome high school that consistently won our county and conference championships and made it past the first few rounds of the state tournament. I’ve enjoyed the sport throughout my life so much that I’ve coached for the past 3 years, and still play in a local fun league."

"As a former student journalist and avid soccer player growing up, I was instantly drawn to ASNY's unique mission to encourage storytelling through poetry and soccer. Both taught me an incredible amount about myself, so contributing to an organization that gives local youth a chance to experience that for themselves just kind of feels like home."

A favorite soccer memory: "My brother and I had the same soccer coach for all of high school which was so much fun. Since the boys played fall season and the girls played spring season, we'd get to practice with each other on our off-seasons which was the best. Also, our coach would make us be ball boy/girl for each other's games since he knew we shared a car and couldn't leave until the other's game was over!"

Caitlin Farrow

Caitlin grew up just outside of Toronto, Ontario and now lives in Brooklyn.

A favorite soccer memory: "I was on a mission trip in Nicaragua. We were in a small rural village preparing food for children in the area, followed by an organized game of soccer. We handed out jerseys from a local soccer league back in Ontario and split them up into two teams and let the game begin. It was about thirty children and me playing together, surrounded by the community, and I will never forget the smiles on all of their faces (and the quick footwork around me!). It was a nice reminder of the power soccer has in uniting people, no matter their background."

‘Washed up’ collegiate athletes leave their comfortable bubbles on campus and enter the real world with giant holes in their hearts, trying to fill them with adult co-ed leagues, and I was certainly no exception. In getting involved with America SCORES and everything it gives to the kids – teachings of self-expression, introspection, and general harnessing of skills that stretch beyond the game – I’ve learned more about my own soccer career and myself retrospectively than I ever did in the moment.

A favorite line from a favorite poem: "Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute; / What you can do, or dream you can, begin it. / Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it." (Jean Anouilh)

A favorite soccer memory: "Winning my college’s first-ever conference championship!"
