"I was a competitive soccer player in high school, and I directly saw the positive impact that playing on a sports team had on my life. I learned so much about teamwork and leadership. These opportunities are crucial for kids in school everywhere because they help you grow in so many ways. think the work that ASNY is wonderful in shaping the lives of so many children that may not have such opportunities otherwise".

  • Christy Kingham

“I can't believe I didn't know about your organization before! I'm a former English teacher, poet, runner, and soccer player. I have dedicated my life to designing environments and experiences for young people to thrive and have the most choice-filled lives possible. I love that you have a holistic approach to student enrichment that also is grounded in social justice.”

  • Mary Amonica

“I know how pivotal programs like these play in a child’s life and to me it is important to raise awareness about these opportunities. Since I grew up being a competitive athlete in soccer, I think it is important that education and athletics are stressed in this program and it teaches youth how to balance responsibility. I believe playing sports has allowed me to succeed academically because I needed the structure in order to succeed!”

  • Allison Overall

“I'm inspired by the team’s mission and dedication to fostering a better community!”

  • Hunter Hoeschler

“I have played sports my whole life and have seen the impact they have had on me both on and off the field and believe it is so important to give as many people the same opportunity. Running for ASNY is a way to raise awareness and spread the mission with others who are not familiar with it!”

  • Raphael Carvalho
