Odyssey, Citi, and more take home victories at SCORES Cup 2023!

On Saturday June 24, 25 corporate and community soccer teams came together at Pier 40 in Lower Manhattan for America SCORES New York’s annual SCORES Cup, enjoying a day of exciting competition that led to seven champions and a great amount of support for our social justice youth development program.

Over 500 players proudly wore the colors of their teams in support of ASNY’s young people, as seen in the wonderful photos by photographers Luis Fonseca and Kim Kirnan!

SCORES Cup is New York's premier corporate soccer tournament and one of America SCORES New York's largest fundraisers, where all proceeds go to support our soccer, poetry and civic engagement after-school programming, impacting public school students in Harlem, Washington Heights, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.

Despite the rainy weather, our players stayed energized thanks to the diligence of our incredible volunteers, many of whom started the day as early as 6 AM. By staying throughout the day, encouraging teams and helping the day run as smoothly as possible, you’ve made the event a success. We couldn't have done it without you!

Our Division 1 teams began checking in with our volunteers as early as 7.30am and while every team came to win, only a few proved victorious: UPS took the SCORES Shield victory over Deloitte while Odyssey beat out Deutsche Bank for the coveted SCORES Cup trophy!

Division 2’s competition was fierce among the 16 teams, but at the end, Macquarie took home the Change Makers Shield, Safra National Bank won the Fair Play Trophy, and newcomers Fenagh Engineering claimed the Change Makers Cup!

Our Division 3 teams, while recreational, made sure to bring their A-game to the field but CIBC and Citi proved victorious!

We could not have asked for a more wonderful day! A huge thanks to all field marshals, referees, and all volunteers who worked hard all day to keep games on an even keel - without their experience and support, this would be impossible.

Finally, a huge thank you to our corporate sponsors! This event was made successful thanks to your commitment to our city and its young people, with over $200,000 being raised for our program!

Looking forward to 2024!
