An Update from America SCORES New York

After seven years of leadership, America SCORES New York’s Shannon Schneeman will be stepping down as Executive Director in June.

Since Schneeman joined the ASNY team in 2015, the organization has expanded its programs, from working alongside nearly 250 poet-athletes in West Harlem and Washington Heights each year to providing year-round programming to over 1,500 young people annually across three boroughs.

Under Schneeman, ASNY has seen exponential growth, becoming a million-dollar organization and developing a growing and diverse staff who are committed to the sustainability and success of the organization.

"We are so fortunate to have had Shannon over these last seven years," said ASNY Board Chair Edison Bardowell. "On behalf of the Board of Directors, we want to thank Shannon for her leadership and steadfast commitment to our community. We are proud of the support she has provided to our mission to continually improve the lives of our young people and to empower them to strengthen the communities in which they live."

On behalf of all former and current staff, partners, poet-athletes, and alumni, we'd like to thank Shannon Schneeman for all the incredible work she's done for ASNY,

for our communities, and for the future leaders of New York City.

As we continue to look forward and begin our search for a new Executive Director,

Chief Operating Officer khalil murrell will continue in his current role as Acting Executive Director.
